ppl lawyers among the contributors to the International Comparative Legal Guides – Project Finance 2026
Project finance remains central to Greece’s energy transition, infrastructure development and investment activity.
Papanikolopoulou & Partners Law is pleased to have contributed the Greece chapter to the International Comparative Legal Guides – Project Finance 2026.
The chapter provides an overview of the Greek legal framework governing project finance transactions, covering key areas such as security, security trustees, enforcement of security, bankruptcy and restructuring proceedings, foreign investment restrictions, government approvals, foreign insurance, dispute resolution, tax and other matters relevant to lenders, sponsors and investors.
In the chapter, our team also examines current market trends, including the continued role of large-scale energy transition projects, renewable energy developments, electricity transmission infrastructure, projects linked to the repurposing of former lignite regions and the impact of EU funding programmes on the Greek project finance market.
Chapter authored by Mary Nigritinou (partner), Evgenia Moulianitaki (junior associate) and Thomais Telliou(junior associate).
